Steel cut oats are the real 'Raw' form in which the healthy grain can be consumed. It is minimally processed, wholegrain and is packed with soluble fibre, beta glucan which is responsible for the cholesterol-lowering properties of this super grain. They may take slightly longer to cook, however the nutty taste is definitely worth the wait. Also referred to as Irish or Scottish oats, they have a toothsome, chewy texture.
